RainSleep is a browser-based audio workspace for sleep routines, quiet breaks, meditation, and focused work. You can start with a ready-made rain recording, compare verified sound details, layer several tracks in the Mixer, or create new audio in the AI Audio Studio.

Public listening does not require an account. AI generation does require an account and uses credits. This guide reflects the product available today rather than an early launch roadmap.

What You Can Use Today

Rain Sounds and the Free Sound Library

The public library includes rain, thunder, birdsong, flowing water, ocean ambience, fireplaces, piano, meditation audio, and other background sounds. Recordings range from short listening sessions to multi-hour tracks.

The Rain Sounds collection provides browsable pages for published rain audio. Individual sound pages show facts tied to the actual file, including its exact duration and whether thunder has been verified. A recording can repeat until you stop it, a timer ends, or you leave the page; repeating a file does not create new weather events or extend the original recording.

RainSleep also offers procedural sound pages for listeners who prefer a continuous noise profile rather than a finite recording. Available tools include white, brown, and green noise, fan noise, binaural beats, fireplace sounds, waterfalls, and ocean sounds where suitable audio is available.

Sound Mixer

The RainSleep Mixer is already available. It lets you combine up to four layers from the listening catalog, adjust each layer independently, and begin with presets such as rain, forest, ocean, or meditation combinations.

The Mixer is useful when one recording is close to what you want but needs another texture. You might place gentle rain under a fireplace, add distant birds to a forest layer, or lower every layer except a steady noise bed. Mixer sessions also include a fade-out sleep timer.

Sleep Timers

Sleep timers are available across the main listening experiences. Choose a duration when you want playback to stop automatically, or leave the timer off when you prefer to stop the sound yourself.

A timer is a playback control, not a sleep guarantee. If a sound feels distracting or uncomfortable, lower the volume, choose a steadier recording, or stop playback.

AI Audio Studio

The AI Audio Studio currently supports three generation modes:

  • AI Music: Describe an atmosphere or soundscape and create ambient music.
  • Text to Speech: Turn your own text into audio with a selected voice.
  • Sleep Content: Create and narrate a bedtime story, guided meditation, affirmation set, or nature journey from a theme.

AI generation requires an account. New accounts receive three generation credits, and each AI Music, Text to Speech, or Sleep Content request uses one credit. A music request may return up to two results while still using one credit. Voice Clone is not currently available.

Generation time varies with the selected mode, input length, output duration, provider load, and network conditions. Completed results can be played and downloaded from the Studio. The free Rain Sounds library and Mixer do not consume generation credits.

How RainSleep Audio Is Made

RainSleep does not use one production method for every sound. The catalog includes field-recorded natural ambience, prepared audio, and AI-assisted generation. Published sound detail pages are written around the facts verified for that specific file rather than a blanket claim about the entire library.

This mixed approach makes it possible to preserve useful natural recordings while also offering tools for creating new ambient music, spoken audio, and narrated sleep content. It also means you should not assume that every sound has the same origin or reuse terms.

RainSleep is designed for personal listening. Do not treat a public streaming page as permission to republish, sell, or use its audio commercially. Contact the RainSleep team if you need information about a particular use.

A Simple Way to Get Started

For a Bedtime Routine

  1. Open the Rain Sounds collection.
  2. Choose a gentle recording if sudden thunder keeps you alert, or a verified thunder track if you prefer stronger variation.
  3. Start at a low, comfortable volume.
  4. Set a timer if you do not want playback to continue all night.

For Focus or Reading

  1. Try a steady rain, fan, white-noise, or brown-noise page.
  2. Keep the sound below the level of the task you are doing.
  3. If one sound feels too flat, use the Mixer to add a quiet second layer.

For a Custom Audio Idea

  1. Open the AI Audio Studio.
  2. Choose AI Music, Text to Speech, or Sleep Content.
  3. Enter a specific atmosphere, script, or theme.
  4. Review the credit cost before submitting the request.

What RainSleep Does Not Promise

Rain audio can make an environment feel more consistent by reducing the contrast of intermittent sounds. Personal response still varies. RainSleep does not claim that a particular track will change sleep stages, treat insomnia, lower a health measurement, or work for every listener.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are RainSleep sounds AI-generated?

Some audio uses field recordings or prepared source material, while other audio is created with AI-assisted tools. The library is not accurately described as entirely AI-generated or entirely non-AI.

Do I need an account?

No account is required to browse and play the public listening library or use the Mixer. An account is required to submit AI generation requests and manage generated results.

Is RainSleep free?

Public rain sounds, the Free Sound Library, procedural listening pages, and the Mixer are free listening tools. AI generation uses credits; new accounts receive three generation credits, and additional credit packs are available from the Pricing page.

Can I download audio?

Completed AI Studio results can be downloaded. The public sound library is designed primarily for streaming, and availability of a public player does not grant general reuse or commercial rights.

Are the Mixer and sleep timer still planned features?

No. Both are available now. The Mixer combines multiple audio layers and includes a fade-out timer, while individual listening pages provide timer controls suited to their player.

Choose the Tool That Fits the Moment

Use a published sound when you want to listen immediately, the Mixer when you want to control several layers, and the AI Audio Studio when you want to create something new. RainSleep keeps those options in one place without presenting background audio as medical treatment or promising the same result for every listener.

Start with Rain Sounds, build a combination in the Mixer, or describe a new idea in the AI Audio Studio.
